Golf for the Next Generation: The 2026 LIV For Good Report

LONDON and New York — September 1, 2026 — LIV Golf today published its 2026 LIV For Good Season Update, detailing significant progress across its global impact and sustainability initiatives. Anchored by its three core pillars—Game, Community, and Planet—the 2026 season report highlights the League’s commitments to impact youth lives around the globe. To-date, the League has impacted more than one million young people’s lives through its Impact and Sustainability initiatives. The work done during LIV Golf’s fifth full season demonstrates how global partnerships, team-driven grassroots initiatives, and sustainable event management are creating measurable change on and off the course.

Expanding Global Access and Youth Golf Participation

Through its Game pillar, LIV Golf is actively removing historic barriers to entry and expanding access to the sport worldwide, exceeding its ambitious annual target to introduce 15,000 new youth to golf in 2026. This commitment to youth development is reflected globally through tailored regional programs and team initiatives.

Grassroots momentum expanded significantly during the first half of the season, led by team-led activations such as Ripper GC’s Little Rippers program. The initiative welcomed 40,000 total junior golfers in 2026 and supported a broader movement that has seen Australian golf club memberships for players under 18 increase by 112% over a rolling five-year period.

In the United Kingdom, Majesticks Golf Club’s award-winning Little Sticks initiative has now impacted over 50,000 young people across 324 schools. An independent study revealed that participating students experienced a 19.5% increase in goal-setting confidence, a 15% increase in problem-solving persistence, and a 12.3% increase in teamwork appreciation. Furthermore, international development pipelines continue to flourish: 50 youth in Saudi Arabia participated in a 20-week structured golf and mentorship program through ROSHN Rising Stars, 40 youth enrolled in the yearlong Southern Guards GC Academy, and six students received full academic scholarships through the Valderrama Foundation in Spain.

Strengthening Local Communities and Driving Regional Impact Across the Globe

LIV Golf’s Community pillar harnesses the power of sport to strengthen local populations and improve lives, targeting an annual impact of 400,000 youth through educational, humanitarian, and local community initiatives. Between January and June 2026, the League impacted 287,000 lives through its ongoing partnership with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the co-developed Golf for Protection Playbook, which delivers sport-based recovery programs to displaced communities. Additionally, LIV Golf’s collaboration with Discovery Education brought STEM-focused golf resources to 77,838 youth across key tournament markets, including Riyadh, Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Africa.

Leading Environmental Stewardship and Sustainable Event Operations

As the first professional golf league, tour, or major body to achieve ISO 20121 certification for Sustainable Event Management from the British Standards Institution (BSI), LIV Golf continues to set international benchmarks for sustainable event execution while advancing events toward GEO certification standards. Operating in partnership with BSI and independent auditors, the League rigorously tracks carbon emissions, waste diversion, and resource conservation across all event stops.

A standout achievement of the 2026 season was the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa event, which established record benchmarks for environmental performance. The tournament achieved a 85% waste diversion rate and saved 3,048,203 liters of water through high-efficiency restroom infrastructure, while on-site water refilling stations eliminated 25,000 single-use plastic bottles. Transport emissions were dramatically curtailed through a city-wide park-and-ride program utilized by nearly 19,000 fans, eliminating 540,000 travel miles and preventing 183,637 kgCO₂e in emissions. In line with circular economy principles, the event also donated approximately 230 square meters of PVC signage to local women-owned businesses in Johannesburg to be upcycled into eco-friendly bags and products.

Additionally, across global stops in 2026, LIV Golf achieved a 27% reduction in newly printed signage (3,206 m² saved across Adelaide, Hong Kong, and Singapore) and reduced shuttle bus movement in Adelaide by 95%, avoiding 7,695 kilometers of vehicle transport.
