Hatton finishes tied for seventh at 2026 U.S. Open, earns 2027 exemption
Legion XIII star places inside top 10 to secure spot at Pebble Beach next year

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. – Legion XIII’s Tyrrell Hatton finished the 126th U.S. Open at 1 over and tied for 7th, capping a steady performance at Shinnecock Hills.
Players who finish inside the top 10 of the U.S. Open earn exemptions into the championship the following year, meaning Hatton will compete at Pebble Beach in 2027.

Hatton's week followed a steady arc, building to a closing 3-under 67 that left him at 1 over for the week. The Englishman called it one of his more enjoyable rounds of the week, even with a frustrating bogey on his final hole of the week.
This was Hatton’s fourth top-10 finish in his 11 major starts since joining LIV Golf. He had five top 10s in his 34 major starts prior to joining the league.
"It was a pretty solid round of golf," Hatton said. "The conditions today and with the wind, it was a bit more favorable, certainly more enjoyable experience than the first three days. I was happy to go out and play a pretty decent round of golf. Obviously, the last hole stings a bit. Kind of reminds me in some ways of Oakmont last year, where I was a bit unlucky on 17 — not so much on 18, but more 17 there. Yeah, disappointing."
With his finish also landing inside the top 10, Hatton secured his own return trip to Pebble Beach.
"Now all I can hope for is that it stays top 10 and I'm guaranteed a spot in the U.S. Open next year," Hatton said after his round while play continued on the course.
His hope came true.
